Halladay XII: Now with Roy Halladay!

Postby cshort » Mon Dec 14, 2009 22:04:34

Reporters are throwing crap against a wall to see if anything sticks. If they can get 2/3's of a trade like this right, they'll live off of it for years. I refuse to believe RAJ would give up now what he refused to in July. It makes no sense, unless they're getting more than Halladay back.

Kyle Drabek-S- Phillies Dec. 14 - 8:56 pm et

Bob Elliott of the Toronto Sun has heard that RHP Kyle Drabek is involved in Monday's three-team blockbuster but not Mariners prospect Phillippe Aumont.
So, we're still waiting to hear what the M's are giving up to get Cliff Lee. Here's what we've gathered to this point: The Phillies will get Roy Halladay from the Blue Jays and will hand him a three-year, $60 million contract extension; The Blue Jays, in turn, will get Drabek, catcher Travis D'Arnaud and possibly outfielder Michael Taylor from the Phillies; Seattle will then wind up with Cliff Lee.

yikes

Clearly, there is more to this...like, what is Seattle giving up

bollix. the one thing which there has been no evidence of, ken rosenthal excepted, is that lee is going to seattle. It's just every article keeps mentioning him like a tart desperately holding onto a stiff cock in the middle of the worlds biggest fuck-a-thon, praying it'll keep her from going under.

I think the issue is that there were two possible deals being discussed - 1 with Sea and Tor and 1 with just Tor. Maybe both are still on the table

The Associated Press reported that J.A. Happ, Joe Blanton and Brown also took physicals in Philadelphia on Monday, but there's no clear indication that they are a part of this trade.

The AP also reported that the commissioner's office granted a 72-hour window on Sunday for Toronto and Philadelphia to complete their trade.
''I don't know what was harder - that (Phillies lineup) or the All-Star team lineup,'' Haren said.

This was from Stark. Obviously Brown didnt take a physical in Philly since he is in Palm Beach. Probably BS

Yeah, Brown doesn't have any idea what's going on, so that's Grade A false.

Prediction time:

To Mariners - Blanton and Brown/Taylor
To Blue Jays - Happ, d'Arnaud and a Mariners' prospect
To Phillies - Halladay (at least 3 years), cash (maybe) and a Mariners' prospect

Mariners get a quality starting pitcher and young OF power prospect, Blue Jays get young quality starting pitcher, catching prospect (with french name) and another quality prospect and Phillies get Roy, some cash to help pay for his contract (maybe) and a decent prospect.

BTW, how fucking awesome is it that we're arguing over whether or not we want Roy Halladay or Cliff Lee?
