The Phillies are in discussions with the Indians to obtain left-hander Cliff Lee and possibly another player for Class A right-hander Jason Knapp, Class AAA right-hander Carlos Carrasco, shortstop Jason Donald and catcher Lou Marson, according to a major-league source.
Carrasco was scratched from his start for the Class AAA Lehigh IronPigs on Wednesday, and Donald and Marson were not in the lineup. It was not known whether Donald and Marson had scheduled off-days for an 11 a.m. start after a night game.
Talks remain fluid — the Phillies also are talking to the Mariners about left-hander Jarrod Washburn, and the Dodgers planned to make a "hard push" for Lee on Wednesday, according to a source.

The thing I was thinking all along is (even if the Phillies now appear not to be getting Halladay): why would Toronto want Halladay to start tonight? Not one good thing could come of it.

-Jays thought the Phillies were bluffing on Lee
-Will probably reach out to the Phillies as it's still the best fit
-Jays are not moving off Drabek

They would be conceding that they are trading him. JP has been spending weeks trying to convince potential trading partners that he's perfectly happy keeping him.

They tend to live in fear of being the team that will end up without a chair when the music stops. I think a deal today or tomorrow is far more likely than one on Friday.

Why? Towards the close of any auction is when the bidding gets serious.
B/c it hasn't changed much with the other rumors. The ante hasn't been upped much, if any, for Halladay. It's pretty rare in a baseball trade for a team to have many prospect packages they're interested in, and for all those teams involved to have the ability to keep upping the ante, too
