i have NO regrets getting Lee instead of Halladay. LEE 4 EVERRRR
Why not just go storm Normandy and get shot in the face while you're at it
Why not get a plumbing license and run around high on shrooms stealing peoples' pocket change

Unless he uses his pending divorce as an excuse not to spend money. See also: Moores/divorce, Wilpon/Madoff.

I'm not at all suggesting I'd rather have Halladay than Lee at this point, I'm just pointing out that we're pretty far inside the Dodgers' heads now. If this year they got George Sherrill for the express purpose of beating us because of what happened in 2008, how much more crazy will they be now that it happened again in 2009? I love these intra-division rivalries. You know Dodgers fans don't even hate the Giants as of this moment as much they hate us.

With all the World Series money we're trading for Halladay, cause Ruben is a smug son of a bitch with a firm goddamn handshake
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

Not only that, he's going to trade Vicente Padilla and Eric Valent to get him.

Might be able to get him cheap too... I mean, after Halladay's arrested for mailing Ricciardi a big box of poop, his stock is bound to drop.

would anyone trade Hamels straight up for Halladay?

Halladay on the Phils next year would likely overall, be their best pitcher. I luv that guy and I think he's like Maddux before him, one of the few pitchers in MLB that is reliable.

I know he costs a fortune and only has one year left on his deal, but our window is now -- and Lee or no Lee, I'd still covet Roy. Not sure about Hamels trade, but I'd do a deal with JA and some other pieces. Imagine that scenario ...

Jays wouldn't do it. They'd be getting rid of Halladay for financial reasons and, although Hamels doesn't make a ton next year ($6.65MM) I'm sure they want ML minimum players for Hallday. They're still going to want Happ or Drabek.

Im good then with that.

Halladay
Lee
Hamels
Blanton
Pedro?

Expensive but potentially fearsome. If Pedro can't hold up or doesn't want to come back -- we can find a servicable arm.

Moyer is the problem unless he volunteers to retire, which somehow I doubt. I suspect unless he can't beat the injury he will want to come back one more time with this awesome team.

Also, can we resign Myers as a middle-reilever? Would he stay in that role and accept the pay cut?

I doubt the Jays would want only Happ or Drabek. Probably would want another player or two. As long as they're not named Taylor or Brown, I'd probably do it, too. But, as you mentioned, Moyer's salary could be an impediment. If Moyer doesn't retire, they'd probably have to find a way to clear other salary, with the most likely candidate being Victorino, with Werth moving to CF and Taylor taking over in RF. Not saying I'd do all this, just speculating.
