Looking forward to watching Evan Jager run the steeplechase final today (Monday). He set the American record and was smoking all the Kenyans before this slight "mishap" earlier this year in Brussels.

steeplechase is my favorite event. Can't believe he fell on the last hurdle.

I only ran the event twice. The first time it was over 100 degrees. I remember hitting the first trough of water and it took my breath away when it splashed up on me it was so cold compared to the temp outside.

That was so bad. He must be very patient because that could have been uglier in a bunch of different ways.

I would love to know who thought it would be a good idea to mount cameramen on Segways, insuring that they wouldn't be able to watch where they were going.

believe it or not, the female version of bolt seems to be a dutch woman: daphne schippers was a close second in the 100m and won the 200m today with the best time in 17 years (3rd best ever behind flo-jo and marion jones)... all this only a few months of switching to full time sprint training after being a top heptathlete. like bolt, she literally towers over the competition, and like bolt she seems to just keep accelerating throughout each race. watch the videos of both races. the comeback in the 200m was stunning, as was the size of the improvement over her previous and personal and european record. (4 tenths of a second, i think).
