Truex probably wins without that last caution. At a minimum, it would've been a less annoying result. Regardless, it was better than that Eagles "game" I had on my other screen.

Hamlin held off teammate Kyle Busch to win his 2nd Daytona 500 in four years, and another teammate Erik Jones charged up late to take 3rd, so Gibbs had 1-2-3....first time that's happened since Hendrick had the top 3 in 1997 (Gordon, T.Labonte, Craven)

Truex running Top 10, PHX might be the most strange track on the circuit with the ability to basically run anywhere on the track you want.

some major changes to the nascar schedule next year. phoenix gets the championship race. homestead moves to a random date. pocono will host a doubleheader one weekend (june 27/28). martinsville determines the final four. bristol is the last race of the first round. daytona loses july 4th to the brickyard and will now be the regular season finale. dover loses its playoff race. vegas, talladega and the roval in the second round. west coast trip after the daytona 500 instead of going to atlanta. two week break for the olympics. southern 500 opens the playoffs.

Funny that PHX gets the championship race after what I said above.

i don't care all that much but is it accurate that the nascar surge from a few years ago has kind of leveled/dropped off?

lots of nascar fans are suddenly dedicating a lot of time to politics
