can't believe vince is still arb. i feel like he's been with this organization for a decade.
Not everything I think is something I should say.

Vince seems like a no offer at that number.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

3.6? That’s chump change

I think Neris is a more interesting decision

How much money do we save by letting all the free agents walk?

Do we think Klentak and McPhail are let go this week?

Workman and Hembree were due less than that and they needed the Red Sox to pay it all so they could stay under the tax which may have impacted whether seabold had to be involved.

I just don’t see the point. He’d be getting paid like 4x what a minimum guy would. They have a lot of holes don’t throw money away.

There is no buyout because he's still arb-controlled. If the Phils decline his option, he's a 3rd time arb guy (6th season). They'd then either non-tender him or go the arb route.

He's a chump though. You don't pay replacement level players 3.6 million dollars on purpose

Arrieta = $20M
Didi = $14M
Bruce = $14M
JT = $10M
Workman = $3.5M
Alvarez = $2.95M
Hunter = $850K
Parker = $564K

A little under $66M, then you can save another $10M declining Robertson and $4.25M declining Phelps

Angels already fired their GM, so I'm guessing tomorrow or Tuesday (to avoid getting lost in next-day Eagles postmortem). I think I would be surprised if this dragged out like the Gabe decision last year did.

Then it’s close to $80M because there’s no way that the Phillies should take on Robertson and Phelps at those numbers. Eighty million could plug some big holes in the lineup going forward.

Heyman says it's not a guarantee that Klentak is fired, then he throws out the idea that the Phils might use JT's money towards Bauer instead

If they get Bauer, at least 81-81 next year won't be boring
Even if you get run over by a clown car and pissed on by a busload of school children, it's still your responsibility to interpret the meaning of the event and choose a response

Afraid Bauer will get severely overpaid

He’s vowed to pitch the rest of his career on one-year deals. See if he sticks to his word.
