Hopefully they dont come in bunches. Sixto looks legit. JCP currently outproducing Lindor, Correa, Bregmen, Segura...

Since you didn't respond to my previous post, but JCP has a 96 wRC+ (which is 16th among qualified SS) and has a career wRC+ of 89. Seguar is 103 and 96. Lindor is 98 and 118. Correa is 117 and 129. Bregman is 140 and 146.

What on earth are you talking about?

Throwing batting practice every night can be fatiguing.

Thought I saw a reference to that in a recent article about Roman Quinn.

Found it. https://www.inquirer.com/phillies/phill ... 00826.html

“I feel like the whole nine years I’ve been with the Phillies, I’ve been learning and growing to know when to use my speed in different situations, whether that’s a bunt or a stolen base,” Quinn said. “I put in a lot of work. I’m always reading scouting reports. [First base coach Paco Figueroa] will always send me, especially starting pitchers, their times to the plate and their pick-off move before the game. He also lets me know that when I’m on first base. I’m always aware and trying to utilize stuff like that during the game.”

The baserunning has been very god. I also feel like the defense has been improved, though I haven't looked at the numbers or watched every game.

I wish we could bring back Vuk. He would hit Bohm a million groundballs until he was a better than average 3B

fangraphs has their 2020 statcast tables working, saving me the trouble of visiting both sites to discover the following: nola and eflin are succeeding with top-ten k-bb% numbers (8th and 10th among 113 sp's with 20+ ip), despite mediocre barrel% (i.e. pissrod%) rankings of 48th and 74. wheeler is the opposite, with well below average k-bb% (91th) but the lowest barrel% in the league, so that he joins nola near the top in era- (n=14th and w=16th), while eflin's tendency to give up hard-hit balls is only compensated enough by his k-bb% to end up 53rd in run prevention. then there's jake, who is worse than wheeler in k-bb%, and right there with eflin in hard-hit rate, leading to him being 98th in era-. howard would be the worst of the lot in the k and bb dominated stats (k-bb%, fip-, xfip-, siera) if he had enough innings to make this list, but between wheeler and nola in hard-hit prevention, and thus around 15 spots better than arrieta in era-. vv? you are all too young to be exposed to the horrors of his numbers, and i recommend averting your eyes from his coming re-appearances made necessary by all the double-headers on the way.
p.s. oddly enough, and a sign that figuring out how to use the new batting ball data correctly remains a work in progress, statcast themselves rank eflin the best of the bunch in expected woba (combo of bb, k, and contact quality), ranking 5th in the league (just behind degrom!) among pitchers who have face 100+ batters. the implication is that eflin is hurt more than the others from a combo of park and defense. a couple years back, this stat is what made lots of people think pivetta was about to become great. i know they've been refining the model every year since then, but it will still be awhile before i dare to trust xwoba again.

Bowa is still around. For all his faults, he does seem to have a great reputation for improving infielders’ defense.

Bryce was also gazzin Paco up on Sunday night saying he’s helped him improve his defense. He does it all.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.
