The #Sixers may another respected coaching candidate. Sources have said Houston Rockets player development coach John Lucas is interested in a second go-round as the #Sixers head coach.

Lucas is 66 years, but is respect around the league. He also has a great relationship with players.

I loved J Kidd as a player when I was kid, had his jersey and everything.

Jason Kidd has no shame about openly campaigning for head jobs. Which is fine you have to advocate for yourself in life. He’s not a good coach though

I don't know how to judge Kidd as a coach. He seemed pretty good early, but wore on his team(s) over time. I don't know what, exactly, he would bring to the table.

I don't think Harris and Brand would bring in a guy known for trying to throw a front office coup, and Bucks fans tend to think he was pretty terrible there

I like Cassell more than most of the options mentioned so far, certainly more than Lue. at first I thought 'they wouldn't do it, it look too nepotistic' then I laughed at myself

He came up with this idea that they would basically all out blitz every screen, which worked for a couple months, but then teams came up with pretty obvious counters. Then when it didn’t work anymore he just said they weren’t trying hard enough. After that Bud came in and they made some pretty straight forward conservative changes along with bringing in Lopez and immediately became a defensive juggernaut.

Basically I would stay far away.

Yeah Kidd had a super talented super long team with spacing issues in Milwaukee and never solved it. Then Bud took over and they became a death machine. No thanks.

I like Cassell, too. He was a really smart player. I’m just leery of hiring another coach without NBA head coach experience.

Yes I am intrigued by Cassell but feel like we need somebody who really know what they are doing. The window, if we even have one, is closing fast.
