With the Nats being eliminated, this marks 20 straight seasons without a repeat champion. The longest stretch in the history of the four major sports.

Pretty sure Trent Steele* will be happy about this (*someone here hates Brennaman).

Announced his resignation from Reds games

My family and I have decided that I am going to step away from my role as the television voice of the Cincinnati Reds. I would like to thank the Reds, Reds fans and LGBTQ Community for the incredible support and grace they have shown my family and me.

To this great city, my hometown, a sincere thank you. I truly regret what I said and I'm so very sorry. No one loves this town more than me. I have been in this profession that I love for 33 years. And it is my hope and intention to return. And if I'm given that opportunity, I will be a better broadcaster and a much better person.

I am grateful for the forgiveness so many have extended to me, especially those in the LGBTQ community who I have met, spoken with and listened to almost daily over the last five weeks. With their continued guidance, I hope to be a voice for positive change.

Pirates loss + Rangers win means Pittsburgh gets the #1 pick in the 2021 Draft, and as long as Detroit doesn't get swept in the Monday doubleheader they may not play anyway, Texas gets #2

If I was Detroit, I might make some noise about that. Cards screwed up and they get to skip a DH right before the playoffs and Detroit has no chance at the better draft position. I guess it's hard to publicly say, "Hey, we didn't get our fair chance to lose," but it would be reasonable. And again, why should the Cards get to skip the DH that they forced into existence?

Lately it seems like it will go this way but there’s been talk about determining the draft order differently.

Former MLB pitcher Charlie Haeger killed his ex-girlfriend then himself. He pitched five years in the late 2000s and was going to be the Cubs AA pitching coach this past summer

Guy lived a couple of miles up the road. There was a manhunt. Nobody at the time knew he was an ex mlb player. When his name was released most still didn’t know. Now I guess we all know.

What’s really crazy is that when he fled, he ditched his car 50 miles or so south of the Grand Canyon and sounds like someone picked him up hitch hiking to take him into the park with a firearm where he killed himself.

I may be in the minority but I always enjoyed Joe Morgan on Sunday night baseball - maybe it was because I was 12 when he started in 1990 and that was the height of my love of baseball. I know we eventually found him to be old fashioned / out of date but that's part of baseball. I'd take him and Miller over the current booth.
Rest in Peace.
