Which makes sense since it will likely be a few days before they would.

Too bad they can't just kick the Marlins out of the league this year like MLS did to a couple teams.

I know this is very contagious but it is almost like the Marlins took no precautions.

I think it's exactly like the Marlins took no precautions.

Maybe it is one of the dumb baseball unwritten rules or maybe they didn't know what they could do but the Phillies should have reported them to MLB right away when they saw they weren't following the rules.

At least that means no one is deciding things by text anymore
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

The Phillies players and organization decided to play on Sunday, it’s not a good look for the Phillies either really

Yeah maybe MLB didn't give clear guidelines about reporting teams not following rules, but the Phillies should have known better as a team.

@JSalisburyNBCS
With tonight's game postponed, Phillies are planning to bus to New York tomorrow for tomorrow night's game at Yankee Stadium.

Sort of surprised they still bus instead of getting private cars for everyone?

Yeah maybe MLB didn't give clear guidelines about reporting teams not following rules, but the Phillies should have known better as a team.

Either way this stems from lack of organized decision making at the top of MLB. Shouldn’t be on the individual teams to make this completely foreseeable decision once it happens.

Yup there should be MLB reps at all games that are monitoring this stuff and citing violations.

“If a team has (x) positive tests over (y) period their games for the next (z) period are postponed”. -MLB has an hour long meeting to fill that in. Not hard.

You’ve got prosperous, young, high-testosterone guys traveling from city to city by plane, bus, car and other modes of transportation, staying in hotels, traveling to and from those hotels so they can play games, hanging around with each other, etc. They’re not a group of monks or Boy Scouts. What the hell does MLB think is going to happen?

Beyond players how seriously are managers, coaches and execs taking it? Demographically they're more likely to be COVID "deniers".

I would expect at least some of them to treat it as a threat to their income and prosperity, and to hold their teammates (contrary to what I said above about opponents) to some sort of standards so they don't all end up with no income. Money, the great motivator
