Do wonder sometimes if ownership had its act together a little bit earlier and they locked up Schilling and Rolen how much different things would have ended up being. Like maybe they break through in the early part of the decade and have a decade plus of playoff runs but maybe they trade Utley and Howard to maintain it and don't have the golden generation later on. Wade and Bowa probably stick around and you don't get Gillick or Charlie.

The group we got is much more likable that those bozos obviously, and all those years of coming up short made finally breaking through even better, so it probably worked out for the best. But it's fun to think about.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

Idk, it's not like they were the only guys/team on PEDs. That was a league-wide problem, like teams (including ours) popping greenies in decades prior.

There was just a commercial on MLB network that they’re doing a marathon of the 1980 World Series tomorrow starting at 11:30

Leads me to the question - is getting an A's hat sacrilegious if both sides of my family were Phillies fans when the A's were still here?

On the one hand, the idea of a Cubs fan buying a White Sox hat or a Mets fan buying a Yankees hat makes my head spin. On the other hand, the A's are a rich part of the city's baseball history and they left like 75 years ago.

I wouldn't go that far, but Dykstra and Schilling aren't helping me there. What a fucking amazing summer and fall, though. I would go buy the Daily News every day and made this giant collage of Phils photos.
