Can't fault Bryce for spouting the company line, but like when this first came up, if Klentak did a better job, trading Howard wouldn't kill the farm, signing Bryant wouldn't blow the budget, and/or the team would be good enough already that it wouldn't need to make a trade like that to contend.

Granted with the year turning into a weird one it's probably for the best not to make moves like that.

According to source, Phillies full-time employees were told today that there would be no furloughs or layoffs due to the coronavirus shutdown through the end of the fiscal year (end of Oct). Hope is still that BB returns in coming weeks.

If you think Klentak pretty much has to make the playoffs this year I assume he’ll talk himself into not playing service time games to have his best roster from day 1.

I have been wondering what they will do with service time for guys coming up this year. Do they all become super 2s if there are enough games? Does this year not count for service time for players who likely would not have been called up until June/July? Is there a compromise?

I know they made decisions about this for players already in the majors, but it gets tricky when you talk about minor leaguers. On one hand, you don't want them sitting idle for a season. On the other hand, you don't want to have them miss developmental time and the majors may be the only place to get ABs
