I honestly think that's been a "thing" (Trout / HGH / Thyroid rumor) since about his rookie year.

This is not even close to the steroid shit. This was an orchestrated fraud it looks like. Steroids were collective as a whole well known joke to make the game more entertaining.

Points for extra creativity though.

FWIW, if you search Mike Trout and HGH, there are rumors on message boards about this going back to 14 or 15. Says the same thing, HGH for thyroid issues. Not sure what that means.

career ops and ops+ of five-tool right fielder bryce harper = .897 and 137.
career ops and ops+ of five-tool right fielder larry walker = .965 and 141.
ops+ takes care of the coors adjustment. defensively, harper has played proportionately more cf, but walker led rf's in assists 3 times and had 7 gold gloves. on the bases, walker stole 230 bases with a 75.16% success rate, while bryce has swiped 90 at at 72.58% success rate in the "fast half" of his career.
conclusion: if you don't think walker is a hof-er, you should also consider harper vastly overpaid.

i've seen just one phillies game live since 1999, and less than a handful of games on any screen, and thus missed out on seeing the 20th century phillies potential hof-ers at work. this means that if walker gets in, he'll be the first hof-er since michael jack and lefty that i actually got to enjoy during his prime. other than schilling and rolen, walker also will be the last such player for me for a long time. given that i've gone to ground in europe and don't see the fun in watching replays, i will need to shell out for a package that lets me watch the phils weekend day games if want to be able to "claim" another hof-er before i die!
