It is definitely a different situation than what you have in Chicago (Northside vs Southside) and what you had/have in NYC (Brooklyn vs Manhattan vs the Bronx/Queens vs the rest of the city). IIRC, when both were here, most fans just supported whomever was doing best (which was usually the A's), but the Whiz Kids cemented the Phillies as #1. I believe that pattern repeated in St. Louis and Boston as well. It is interesting to note that of all the cities had multiple franchises and lost one during the migration in the '50s, we were the only one to lose the most successful of the franchises.
Yes son. I'm the best mono-thingy guy there ever was.

Brad Keller gets 5 games, Tim Anderson 1 game, Rick Renteria 1 game after benches cleared in the Royals/White Sox game. Anderson crushed a HR and flipped his bat too hard for KC's liking, so he got drilled on the first pitch of his next AB

I imagine I'd be old

in other news, I never realized that the A's only played in Connie Mack Stadium for one season.

Do you just mean after it was renamed? Because that was their stadium since 1908 or 09. Called Shibe most of the time though.

I remember reading the split was possibly by class or religion. Lower income liked Phillies. And I think Catholics liked the A's because of Mack

and they covered his statues outside of the wells fargo center and they won't play him singing the national anthem anymore.

Are the Braves really some sort of huge national draw where they need to be on Sunday night baseball 3 out of the first 4 weeks?

He Jose Canseco's the ball over the wall. It bothers me that this is ruled a homerun. It should be a 4 base error.

I think the intent of the comment was innocent enough but worded poorly (no pun intended), so of course he should be eviscerated.

His job is to say words so seems fair.
