Discounting Ichiro's hokey AB this season (which was still cool, but let's be honest, a gimmick) Utley looks like he will be the last position player born in the 1970s to appear in an MLB game although it's a tie with Adrian Beltre. Both last appeared September 30, 2018. Fernando Rodney looks like he'll be the last player overall as he was born in 1977. Seems like there's usually more people playing into their 40s but maybe Jamie Moyer has just made me think it was more common than it was.

i'm still hoping the cubs will fall out of the race and that hamels would consider waiving his NTC to come here. but eickhoff may be good.
