What does Trump have to do with baseball? Why does MLB care about Trump?

Immigants comin to steal are jerbs.

Why is MLB listening to Donald Trump though?

It’s answered in the first sentence of the article you linked. If you’re trying to make a point or something why don’t you just make it instead of asking open ended questions

Because they're saying that the Cuban Baseball Federation is part of the Cuban government, and that paying them a posting fee violates the trade embargo on Cuba, thus making it illegal.

The problem with making an idiot the head of the executive branch is that he has authority to do things like this.

Next I'm going to read "Donald Trump overturns Anthony Rendon's eighth-inning strikeout".

Also I was looking at attendance numbers on ESPN, and I noticed that the A's were 21st at 23k a game, which of course is bad but good for them. But then I looked into it further and that includes their Japan games against the Mariners which were 43+k sellout "home" games. In their actual home games they are averaging ~17k, which includes a series against the Red Sox of all teams where they averaged about 14k.

Some of the attendance numbers are really jarring/scary for some of these teams. Like in 2012 no one averaged under 19k people. Right now even buoyed by opening weekends there are 5 teams under that number, and that doesn't include the A's who will surely join them.

I imagine this isn't a new thought or anything but I just don't get how these teams come close to breaking even with gate numbers that bad.

It's the changing economics of the game. Gate revenue now makes up less than 30 percent of total revenues leaguewide.

I know that was true for the NFL and NBA, but was under the impression that baseball is still pretty dependent on gate? Admittedly I haven't looked into it in a few years and that has probably changed with all of the big RSN deals. Still though, I feel like these teams that can't draw anyone would also run into issues there? Are they really just living off of revenue sharing? This isn't like basketball or football, there's comparatively few national games, people generally don't watch games where their teams aren't playing ect.

The rights deals with RSNs are where the $$$ is.

Hoping to hit a Cubs game this week and a White Sox game next week while I am in Chicago.

God I really do love MLB.

It started out horrible. The major facelift they've done to it since it opened in the nineties seems to make it drift towards "acceptable," at least on TV.

Regardless, I have a Cubs-hate-driven sort of affection for the White Sox. I am going to the Cubs game strictly as a fan of baseball stadiums.

It reminded me of the vet with a semi ashburn alley when I was there in 2013

Funny Ace should say this - I was looking at photos of "New Comiskey," as it was then known, from when it opened in 1991 and in the first handful of years subsequent to that, and there were a few shots looking at home plate from the vantage point of the pitcher's mound / second base, but with all the stands visible, and I kept thinking it was the Vet. I had to remind myself the Vet did not have grass.

I am determined to sit in the left field bleachers even though my back will pay for it. It's the iconic part of the park, at least to me - watching Schimtty put so many out on to the street behind them.

F the Cubs though, I'll be wearing White Sox gear and rooting for the Pirates. If I get killed you know why!

It can be awfully cold there at this time of year with the wind coming off of the lake.

Jesus Christ, the White Sox PBP radio guy, Ed Farmer, is like the most un-exciteable dude ever. The White Sox are trying to mount an 8th inning come back from being down 8-2, get a gift two out error, and you’d think they were the ones up 8-4 and had made the error.

Now the two of them are bitching about the pitch selection from the Rays closer after a bases loaded walk made it 8-5. JFC

Every team is valued at at least a billion dollars with the Yankees being 4.6 billion

Phils are 1.8 billion, which is 9th
