there's an INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION going on. there's no reason for them to just make a decision without the input of that. just relax and let things play out.

It shouldn't take a week to figure out he is lying.

its been 3 business days so far.

I'd hope they can work through the weekend.

took less time and less evidence for the mob to find jesus guilty and crucify him...

im not saying they're waiting til they're legally able to fire him. I'm saying we have a system in place where even if we "know" someone is guilty, there is still an investigation.

Exactly. Even though we may have completed our investigation, studied the facts and come to our decision the Sixers just aren’t quite as fast and efficient as we are.

How in-depth can this investigation be? This isnt a criminal case, there is no subpoena power here. Either he turned over his phone(s) and his wife or he didnt.

Team has more draft picks than any team in the NBA and is going on 6 days with no gm.

I get that the investigation takes time but it's worth pointing out that this is causing real damage.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

Maybe Eversley -- I keep wanting to call him Everly or Everlong -- is running point. If the new guy is gonna be Griffin I doubt the league wants that news story this week anyway

considering griffin is originally one of jerry's kids, it might be best for everyone involved, including griffin himself that the firing is indeed fully justified.

Aldridge saying investigation likely completed Wednesday.

There are -- at least potentially -- legal hurdles that such disclosures as those alleged to have been sent or otherwise connected to Colangelo could create for the 76ers, and thus make it easier for the team to fire him for cause. (Sources indicate the 76ers’ internal investigation into Colangelo and the accounts is likely to be completed by this Wednesday. SI.com’s outstanding legal expert Michael McCann

maybe so they can void his contract?

I still think it's a possibility he stays.

Of course, maybe I should get caught up on the thread before I say that.

I think it is a misconception that James and Griffin have some great relationship. James was justifiably upset when he was not re-signed because 1) it was an absolutely crucial moment to not have a GM and 2) it was completely about money, but James and Griffin had constant tension the previous three years (as James is likely to have with any GM)

I am not sure the GM matters for LeBron as long as you don't bring in someone who will butt heads with him.

I think it's simply a matter of what it is: They want to have a full investigation and have as many facts as possible before proceeding both for their own benefit and BC's. It's the prudent thing to do.

I don't really have a problem with what they're doing. It's just unnerving because this is also exactly what they would do if they were going to let him stay. Hard to know which way they're leaning and it's the Sixers so you know there's some messed up dynamic just under the surface.

I'm at 90% he goes, but that's 9% less than two days ago.

If they get me down to 80%, I'm going to shake my fist and make grumbling noises.

Because surely the GM is the only one scouting and evaluating players.

He's the one making the final call. Would you prefer the GM have seen an in person workout and interview of every potential target or no?
