I don't believe that Harris and his partners bought the Sixers for any other reason than the team was an under valued asset. They want to maximize the profit out of it by enhancing its sale value. If anyone jeopardizes the value of this investment, Harris will step in and correct that. Collars can't stay.

Maybe it just me, but if someone set me up and I was on the brink of losing my job, I would go on in front of the camera and do whatever I could to try to find the person.

He put out a statement and has been texting with people all day it sounds like. It shouldn't be hard to find who could do this unless he is totally clueless. These accounts were literally live tweeting his son's basketball games.

I think it is someone he knows, he is trying to come up with a way to spin it to keep his job but even if it is wife/son/Dad he will be fired.

So now he has to decide whether he’s going to go the trump route and deny deny deny and never have this go away, or admit it was her and risk never having sex again

I dont think he'd be saying this if it was Jerry/his wife/son. They had to have told him at this point...

A lot of the national radio types are speculating that he was set up.

That doesn't make sense to me, because if the people were out to get him they would have made far worse comments, calling out Josh Harris or insulting Simmons. It's perfectly consistent with what insiders know about Colangelo (at least according to what's published) that he's a big Simmons fan and somewhat lukewarm on Embiid.

Why is it not dispositive that the other accounts went dark as soon as The Ringer contacted the Sixers? They only let the Sixers know of the phila and Eric Jr accounts. The other three going dark immediately indicates if it wasn't Colangelo, it was someone associated with him, and not some outside individual setting him up.

Yup. I believe the Ringer contacted BC himself, right? If it wasn't him, then he knew who it was because that person took them down shortly after. I imagine he contacted that person.

Not necessarily. As I wrote earlier:

As for the 3 accounts being taken private on the day The Ringer called the Sixers about the other two, the perpetrator(s) could have been in close enough contact with The Ringer to know when the call was to made. In fact, it's possible he/they could have put The Ringer up to it by suggesting the plan to call the Sixers about two of the five accounts and then took the other three private once he/they knew the call had been made.

^ That would set off all kinds of alarms for the Ringer though. It would obviously suggest their source is also the perpetrator. I would imagine that occurred to them anyway and they've done what they can to check out that possibility.
