Sixers were never going to take Tatum at 3. So it's Fultz versus either Jackson or Isaac (in reality). I think Ainge was the only GM in the league who ranked Tatum in the top 3 of the '17 draft. So give him credit, but fuck him and the Celtics just for spite.

I don't know how we would know that. We know that the Sixers loved Fultz but how do you know they didn't think highly of Tatum? To me I feel like Sixers though Fultz was tier 1 and Ball and Tatum and Jackson were all the next tier down.

Celtics were taking Tatum at #1 if they stayed which means our next option was either Lonzo or Fultz at #3.

Exactly. There was no way to get Tatum. If the Celtics had the slightest concern that we would take Tatum, they wouldn't have traded with us.

I ask because it seems we’d more desperately need a top backup C/PF at #10 if that’s the case instead of the options we have been looking at.
