Fultz and 10 for CJ would be annoying for 2017 draft trade reasons, but it would also basically mean we would be adding CJ McCollum without losing anyone that contributed to a 52 win second round team.

I think they do it to save money. (Which is why you probably need to find someone else to take Bayless)

Colangelo has to show us something about building this efficiently while not spending the assets like he has his fathers credit card. I could see him trading all of that for CJ, then using 25 to get off Bayless, and all of a sudden we don't have any cheap assets left to fill the team out. There's only so many "well who cares if we overpay, were loaded" trades you can make before you look to the safe and there's nothing left.

I'd be stunned if they moved Fultz in any deal unless another team values him ultra-highly. Throwing him into a trade for CJ McCollum would be ultra-desperate for a team that doesn't need to make an ultra-desperate move right now. They have two years to make a play, they're in a cap climate with very few competitive bidders, and they have an ultra-attractive situation for free agents. That McCollum trade (or something like it) can get done anytime.

They really don't have a great bucket of trade chips anymore. I think that they have the pieces to get whoever they want, but that's pretty much it, and it would put them in a position where they really have to start actually developing bench players or playing the buyout/vet minimum game every year for the next decade.

We don't need to move Fultz, you guys are acting like our core group has peaked. Simmons and Jojo will get better, much better, Fultz isn't a lost cause and we can complete this team without trading half of it for Kawhi.

Our preseason expectations were the 8 seed and then use that as a springboard for next season. We've already vastly exceeded those expectations and there's nothing to insinuate we're not going to get even better.

but eskin said that simmons said he was going to work on his game, and when someone asked if that meant working on his shot, he said he had to work on his game, so that means that he doesn't think he needs to work on his shot!!! awful attitude!

Simmons needs to work on having some idea of what to do in the post in iso. Neither he nor Saric are good at it. What good is their length if they can't consistently score at will against shorter opponents.

i guess the hope would be that james legitimately views him as his protege and would adjust accordingly to best benefit simmons' career.
