When is doing yoga and pilates type training going to be standard for all professional sports - I think they'd cut way down on injuries and issues that involve flexibility and over developing with weights -

Generally I would agree but he's like an uncle to the guys. like another coach but not an old, white curmudgeon.

I vote for purging all the "old white curmudgeon" from Phillies - let's get someone young smart, of color - maybe speaks Spanish - whatever - a manager and coaches for 2017.

They have multiple guys on the staff who speak Spanish.

If I'm Matt Klentak, Pete Mackanin and his "bilingual" self is fired on the day after the regular season ends. He's a horrible manager, especially for a young team like this. This team needs a Joe Maddon type, someone young players love to play for.

Dusty Wathan is praised a lot for his work in the minors. He could be a fit.

Oh, I definitely think Wathan's coaching this team at some point.

Maybe, but I'm not totally sold on Klentak yet either.

Plus, he's pretty much the only backup infielder on the roster. He's fine for his role.

IronPigs are starting Rhys Hoskins in LF tonight.
I don't like this move.
Feels like everyone can see that Tommy Joseph is mediocre but the Phillies.
I guess the move makes sense while Altherr is on the DL but once Altherr is healthy, no way do you bench of one of Altherr, Williams or Herrera just to accommodate Joseph playing 1B instead of Hoskins.
Just my opinion.

Agree. I was ok with playing tjoe til the trade deadline to see if you could get another team interested in him and give you a lottery ticket or something, but at this point that ship has sailed. It's time to see what you've got with Hoskins

The Hoskins thing is fine as a short-term move. If it means more ABs in Sept, let him get a day or two in relief of other guys. You can't bench Joseph altogether if you are hoping to trade him, even for a decent flyer.

I can see it being useful as a psychological move at least. If you're not going to have him replace Joseph right away, it at least indicates that you're trying to find a spot for a potentially frustrated Hoskins.
