Doesn't seem to matter much who pitches anyway. Same result.

I was speaking with another poor suffering Phillies fan at work today about the club showing some stones and cuttingSaunders, but there's no way any of that thought process was actually even thought about in any serious sense. At the beginning of the year we collectively scripture heads about Gomez! But I think we just wanted to send him down or something and hope you found his magic. The call up Perkins, and Milner I guess is just to have a look. I would concur that there were some other options available.

Gelb is saying Leiter (on 40) or Eshelman (not on 40)

Does Eshelman need to be added to the 40 man before the rule v this year?

“Getting to hit up there and Yadi telling me congratulations,” Perkins said after the 8-1 loss, “I couldn’t think of a better catcher that I grew up looking up to. I think I called him ‘sir’ by accident, I was pretty locked in at the time. Did I really just say ‘sir’ to Yadier Molina? It was definitely one of my top life moments.”

“I didn’t get as emotional as I thought I would,” Perkins said. “I kept my cool, but inside I was definitely really excited. They changed our flight three or four times trying to get us here before the game. We ended up driving to Boston to catch a flight to get here in time. Honestly, it all went by in a blink of an eye.”

“I like to say that if you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready,” Perkins said. “Especially being on a National League team, I might hit in the second [spot], I might hit in the 10th. Whenever it’s my turn to play, just being ready to help the team. Maybe it’s not offensively that day, maybe it’s cutting a ball off. That’s just the type of player I am.”

Molina is not worthy of "sir"? Is it because he's Puerto Rican? Do we have another Cliff Lee on our hands?

Id think its a pretty low percentage. Wil Myers and Matt Carpenter come to mind, but Im sure there are lots more.

Hawk Harrelson popularized batting gloves. He was the first to wear them in a game but others wore them in battin' practice.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can
