As always, there seems to be little consistency with HOF.

It is a freakin joke that TO is not in and first ballot. If he was such a "bad guy", then how come he has never had any issues with the law or drugs or hoes can you say Michael Irvin? C'mon gtfooh!

BDawk is a HOFer, it's not even debatable. I understand that they only pick a certain amount each year, but this is bs. Don't pick safeties...? Wtf does that even mean? (we've decided that we don't care about a particular position?)

As always, there is the:

- do you have ring(s)
- were you amazing for a short peak
- did you have a long solid career

BDawk changed the position to some degree, and if you look in to all the stats, not just INTs, you include forced fumbled, fumble recoveries, sacks, and some other stuff I heard a few months ago - you can argue that statistically - not just subjective opinion but statistically he's better than Ed Reed. Reed has the INTs and the TD runbacks - and he was a fantastic player and I wouldn't blink if he made the HOF, I don't have beef with Polamalu either. But BDawk by any criteria was a great guy and teammate, a leader. Long career most games played by Eagle in history. And the stats to back it up. No ring, but 5 NFC Title Games, and a leader on a great D with Ray Rhodes and Jim Johnson.

Why hold him out? Jason Taylor? Yeah, nice player - did some stuff, how many rings? A lot of sacks - cool. He's no more deserving than BDawk

Lynch was not HOF to me. Kurt Warner... really? Was he really a HOF QB? Better than Warren Moon? I guess - 3 SBs but only 1 win. Vermeil said he had some of the best playoff stats at QB, ok. T Davis was a monster for 2-3 years, I'm not sure he was Gale Sayers peak though. What about all these RBs that have 3-4 monster years? He's not the only one, CHiefs have had several.... ok, he lead Denver to two SBs... that counts I guess....

I don't care about M Anderson, whatever. Long career made a lot of FGs and why shouldn't the best of the best at EVERY position be rewarded.

Boselli? Faneca? These were pretty beastly players....

Jerruh? For what? For what?

TO and Ladanian were the top 2 candidates, BDawk is every bit as legit as Jason Taylor.

Kurt Warner -easy in

Terrell Davis- no way. Everyone notice that they somehow had great plug in backs for years after he left?

The baseball Hall is about stats. The football Hall isn't, it's about narrative. That's why Joe Namath is in. His stats are nothing special, but you can't recount the history of the league without him.

You can't do it without TO either, and he will get in. He just didn't get first ballot because of asshattery.

Not sure if you guys saw the ESPN segment about the 10-year old Pats fan with terminal cancer that was a huge fan of Tom Brady, but sadly he passed away yesterday :(

-- ol friend King Dunlap was arrested in Nashville for a domestic disturbance with a girlfriend that filed a protective order against him

-- Darrelle Revis was charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault, one felony count each of robbery and conspiracy, and a misdemeanor count of terroristic threats in Pittsburgh after a street fight left two men unconscious

I guess NFL arrests happen in threes like deaths. Trent Richardson was arrested for domestic violence last night at an Alabama hotel after scratching and bruising a woman's face following an argument at a Walmart

Can Dak, Wentz, and Goff replace Brees, Brady, and Rodgers? If not, is the NFL looking like the NBA post Jordan, Barkley, Shaq?

I guess my question is how will the NFL will fare when its most well known faces retire? In some ways, having the three young talents in big time cities might make things even better if they reach superstar status--LA, Philly, and Dal/Houston are more lucrative markets than Green Bay, New Orleans, and Boston. On the other hand, they could all flame out. And if that happens, then I think woes for the NFL will multiply. If I were in charge of the NFL, I would start working on increasing the profile of top non-QB players.

Don't think NFL is as superstar driven as other sports. Wentz would have been MVP if he didn't get hurt.

Brees and Rodgers are great players but won a combined 2 Super Bowls.

NFL needs teams people love to hate like the Patriots or cowboys to be good. I don't think people will stop watching and as the NFL continues to expand internationally I think they will be fine.

The fact that almost any team can win the Superbowl is a good thing that isn't true about most other sports.

Reports are the Steelers will franchise Bell

the players really need to try to get this down to only allowing a player to be franchised once

They need to make it hurt the team more.
