I read the franchise value will increase by $1B with the move to LA. I would think it'd be hard to move away from that valuation.

If it were solely about that they would have moved last year.

Well they have to pay a 500 mil relocation fee so Spanos probably tried to make it work in SD with the public funded stadium

2 hour drive away and not a dime of tax. Why would SD and the fans that don't even go to the game care?

Here is the problem. The people in SD don't see any reason why they should fork over money to enhance a millionaire's pocket. The NFL is in decline as the ratings show. There are existing venues for the SD St. football, pro soccer (which is growing in popularity in the area) and other sporting activities. In an era for tight budgets in Cali, relying on public financing isn't going to work.

Existing venues for SDSU football? Where? Are you still talking about the Q or somewhere else? Because they don't have anywhere else...

Unless I totally read that paragraph wrong.

Chip's fallen so far that the Jags would rather promote from within than give him a shot.

The Q. Obviously big/good enough for SDSU, the pro soccer club the bowl game, etc. By allowing the Chargers to leave town, isn't the NFL also crossing off SD as a SB site in the future? That's silly since it is a great convention town.

SDSU is looking to build their own stadium. Not sure where that funding will come from but they know the Q is a dump aswell. They might partner with the new expansion MLS club they are trying to get.

NFL hasn't held a SB in San Diego since 2003, and isn't on the schedule up till 2021. 18 years, I think that speaks for itself on what the NFL thought about San Diego.

Sad part is its now 13 years later and they never really did anything about it.

Las Vegas will take a spot in the SB rotation with AZ and LA as far as West Coast goes

Why is it a city government's job to "do something" about whether or not a business decides to hold its private event at its venue, particularly when the "something" they are expected "to do" is fork over a $700M or so gift to a family that is worth 3 times that amount and in furtherance of a business that is so successful it doesn't need to sell a single ticket in order to be profitable?

I mean for real, F-U-C-K the NFL.

One of the few things other than Eagle's success - that I enjoy, is Dal failure.

I got no love of the South, but I like the Philly area kid Ryan, and I got no love of GB Packer fans but I respect the heck outta Rogers - so I'm good with either of them two getting in the SB.

Wouldn't file if he didn't have the votes. It'll be the Russell/15 site across from Mandalay Bay.

The open dirt lot in the upper left hand portion of the picture. From what I know they'll extend the existing monorail to have a drop off point at Mandalay with a pedestrian walk over bridge to the stadium.

Not sure if that's sarcasm or not. That lot is 63 acres, not sure what Stadiums are sitting on these days.

In person (I drive by it 5 days a week) seems incredibly small but I have zero clue.

Most of the stuff around there are industrial and other smaller motels (courtyard etc etc).

I think you'll see the actual plans and designs in July.

I think I'm going to try my hardest to not watch a single NFL game next year.

Cut it cold turkey.

When are you getting Raiders season tickets? First day or second?
