I didn't want to put this in the RIP thread, but looking back at Tony Gwynn's career numbers kind of reminds me of the old Babe Ruth quote (in reverse): "If I'd tried for them dinky singles I could've batted around six hundred." What would Gwynn's career have looked like if he tried to swing for power?
