You must mean active players and not be counting ARod.

Correct.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

Konerko is still playing holy shit. No well, but he's still playing. Adam Dunn is playing well though.

The third guy is also surprisingly playing. Still has some power but not having a good year at age 38.

Old friend Anthony Gose is making a bid to establish himself in the big leagues for the first place Blue Jays. Rasmus is hamstrung on the DL. Gose has played very well in his place and he is a reason the Jays are hot right now.

Oh well, it's not like we could use a good CFer, right?

Drafted as a toolsy high school guy back in 2008. I was surprised at the age as well. Been around a while.

Looks like the Barves are calling up their top 2B prospect Tommy La Stella, but Uggla will remain with the team

An interesting stat so far:

NAME WAR OPS
1. Troy Tulowitzki 4.7 1.187
2. Josh Donaldson 4.0 .882

While that might be interesting in itself...how about this:

Troy Tulowizki
Home OPS: 1.559
Away OPS: .895

Josh Donaldson
Home OPS: .710
Away OPS: 1.024

Other stats:

Chase has 21 doubles. He has hit more than 21 doubles only twice in the previous 5 years. 25 last year and 28 in 2009.

Jimmy is on pace for 89 walks, which would be his highest ever by 27...in the year he is trying to get the all time team lead in hits.

Phillies have 2 players in the bottom 10 in BB/K. Ben Revere at 0.17 and Marlon Byrd at 0.19.

Phillies have 2 players in the top 10 in BB/K. Carlos Ruiz at 1.14. Jimmy Rollins at 0.87.

After ending the season last year at 22nd in Runs Created per 27 with 5.78, Dom Brown is now 79th (6th from the bottom) at 2.44.

One other:
The Upton brothers lead the league in strikeouts with 60 and 61. They have walked 19 and 23 times. One has a .997 OPS and the other has a .632 OPS.

Is that the worst first pitch in the history of baseball? It's really hard to miss by that much. That's like shooting a free throw and having the ball land on the bench.

Only thing comparable that I've seen is Ba Ba Booey:

But I think 50 Cent's cutter movement made his pitch more wild:
