Brewers @ Phils 2008 NLDS Game 1 Threat

Postby laf837 » Wed Oct 01, 2008 19:20:26

Was at meeting all day in ND. I only had the wife text me "good news" as the game progressed. I was sweating freaking bullets for awhile there.

Mrs. Vulture called during the 3rd inning. I picked it up, then Chase hit the double, so I started screaming. Not exactly in the phone, but well, sort of. She said, "I can see you're distracted right now. Goodbye."

i was at the game today-- very awesome! in the 5th inning, the phanatic's shtick was that he had these fake sausage guys do the sausage race and one of them got distracted by ball girls, one of the was tackled by the phanatic, but one of them was approached by a large black guy in an unbuttoned unlabeled phillies jersey with a red plastic baseball bat who took a swing at it and knocked it out. i wasn't sure whether it was actually randall simon from where i was sitting and i couldn't get a good view. did anybody else who was at the game see this? i assume it probably wasn't actually randall simon but he looked randall simon shaped, so i wasn't sure.

anyway, GO PHILS!

Followed on sportsline the first 7.5 innings, listened to Feliz's out and the first 2 outs of the 9th on the radio, and caught the Hart K on TV. A rare playoff game with zero earned runs. Awesome to get this one especially with CC going tomorrow....

Lidge on CSN now

Lidge is charged with an ER in the boxscore.

2nd and 3rd , 1 out ....K, BB, K runner wouldnt have scored so it should be unearned

wild pitch might factor in the scoring

It was Randall Simon. They said it was. Also, after the "competition" was over, they showed him on Phanavision and he was wearing a Pirates hat.

awesome! yeah, i couldn't hear the PA. i had good seats-- lower deck, but underneath the overhang-- so the PA just wasn't loud enough to drown out the crowd. i noticed it kinda late on the phanavision and i wasn't sure that was him.

very cool, then. thanks :)

Love the fact that we won early and can just relax and watch these later games stress free.

Why, is Lidge not pitching any more?

My favorite sign at the game:

Prince Fielder meet King Howard

Does anyone know if Lidge had blown today's save, would it have counted against his 44 (41 this year) consecutive saves streak?

No it wouldn't. The same as homeruns, RBI, etc. don't count towards regular season totals.
Do it again!
