Terrified of what BC is going to do on Thursday. I really fear he'll squander the assets we endured the past few seasons to earn.

Boston gets: Jah
Lakers get: their pick back, 3, Saric
Sixers get Ingram

CMON COLLAR MAN

im in the small percentage that is greedy and wants ingram and simmons both, but have no idea how much it takes and if they'd play together.

what about taking on russell who the lakers lockeroom probably hates and if needed throw something else in?

Barring a last-minute blockbuster trade offer, the Los Angeles Lakers intend to select Duke freshman Brandon Ingram with the second pick in the 2016 NBA draft on Thursday night, league sources told ESPN.

The Lakers spent three hours huddled with new head coach Luke Walton on Tuesday night before signaling to multiple league sources that Ingram would be their choice if the Sixers select Ben Simmons with the No. 1 pick.

The Lakers believe that Ingram is a great fit for the organization and a potential All-Star player down the road. His shooting and ability to defend multiple positions on the floor fit a huge need for them. Ingram has been ranked No. 2 on ESPN's Big Board since December and is widely considered the consensus No. 2 pick in the draft by rival general managers.

simmons, ingram, baldwin, dunn, payton, deyonta davis, brice johnson, bembry, mccaw, derrick jones jr, denzel valentine, onuaku, ellenson, felder, jaylen brown to finish the top 15.

mostly just been seeing/reading how 8-40 are basically interchangeable at this point. lotta players in this draft can do multiple things. rather keep our two picks and get someone quality.

Would be nice to get one of Dunn or Baldwin, but it's looking like Baldwin will go higher than people thought a few months ago.

i can't remember how well we mapped it out in the past, but there seems to be indication that we can't accommodate all of these new roster spots and development. Something has gotta give once the board breaks a certain way in the teens. Would be surprised if they used both picks

I used to think that but there's no reason to be attached to much in our backcourt. Maybe Nik, that's it.

Another Fake ESPN Insider Trade.

1. Celtics trade: No. 3 pick, guard R.J. Hunter
Philadelphia 76ers trade: center Jahlil Okafor, forward Robert Covington

Why Boston does it: The Celtics make the most sense of any realistic destination for Okafor. Boston could use Okafor's ability to efficiently create his own shot, and in the short term Amir Johnson is a good frontcourt partner because Johnson can defend power forwards while playing on the perimeter.

That said, I wouldn't do this deal as the Celtics without getting Covington. The combo forward has one of the league's better contracts (he'll make the veteran's minimum each of the next two years, and even that amount is non-guaranteed) and would allow Boston to play small on a more regular basis.

In fact, Covington cracked the top 50 of our trade value rankings -- just ahead of Okafor.

Why Philadelphia does it: This isn't great value, that's for sure. However, the Sixers are probably going to have to accept less than 100 cents on the dollar because other teams know they want to move either Okafor or Nerlens Noel, and the No. 3 pick is the best they're going to get in this year's draft.

Philadelphia also gets a useful prospect in Hunter, a favorite of my projection system before last year's draft who played well in the preseason before struggling in his limited regular-season action.

Everyone knows Boston doesn't want to draft a big man that's two years away or a guard that won't play for them.

Why is it that whenever there are rumors with Boston the narrative always becomes that the team trading with the Celtics is in a hostage situation.

Their GM is better at using the media to his advantage than nearly any other GM in the sport.

This is my question exactly. But it certainly is consistent in that regard.

It's across sports really. We dealt with this crap when Cole was being traded.

interesting - Murray has gone in and out of favor on the ol' internet - what's your thinking there?

I like that he can shoot and score. With Simmons on board, concerns about Murray's PG ability are lessened IMO. Frees him up to do what he does best, and he can fill in as a point a few minutes a game if need be, but it won't be the most of his responsibilities

Been in favor of Simmons / Murray the whole time. Murray is a potentially elite shooter who will help Simmons and Embiid. We need those types. We can get by with a solid PG, but need true shooters to spread the floor.

I like Murray. This thing about his release point being too low is classic over scouting.

what about the being a bit of a slug on defense? when people say that about Buddy I don't really see it, but with Murray even my untrained eyes see a slow bro.
