Spoke to several teams that had Cal forward Jaylen Brown in for draft workouts. All 3 said his performance was stellar. Shot the ball really well. Was in great shape. After a shaky freshman season, he may be rising in the draft. He has elite physical tools. Celtics seriously considering him at 3.

i love him droppin the celtics tidbit at the very end. planted stories

Jaylen's Agent must have outbid Chrisse's Agent.

Tier 1

Ben Simmons, F, LSU

Last draft, we had just one player in this category: Karl-Anthony Towns. This tier is usually reserved for guys who are sure-fire All-Stars or franchise players. Only six other players have been ranked in this slot since we started doing this in 2009: Blake Griffin, John Wall, Anthony Davis, Andrew Wiggins, Joel Embiid and Jabari Parker.

You have to be more than good to get here. You have to be elite.

The only other player nominated for Tier 1 by various teams was Brandon Ingram. But while some teams see Ingram as a potential superstar, the majority had him in Tier 2.

Nice that we have two of these 7 guys coming in as rookies together

Think this happened Thursday, might need more clarification:

Marc Stein ‏@ESPNSteinLine
ESPN sources say that the Sixers had their first face-to-face meeting Thursday with presumptive No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons on Thursday.

Marc Stein ‏@ESPNSteinLine
The Sixers, sources say, had all of their key people in Cleveland on Thursday to have dinner with Simmons and agent Rich Paul before Game 6.

Brown's actually not using an agent. Will just get help from the PA for his contract.

I kinda wish Mike Conley would accept a bucket of money from us... I think for one year since Embiid will likely have some sort of minutes restrictions we could go with 2 lineups pairing Embiid and Okafor and Noel and Saric with Simmons mixing in and out between them... Covington would give us a shooter... maybe the Lakers pick could get us a legit two guard

Cal games were on too late for me but I liked what I saw from Jaylen in the handful of games I did watch. He's probably one of the more exciting athletes in the draft and I think his ability to get to the basket, ability to draw fouls and pretty muscular frame will give him some nice advantages in the NBA.
This is what a real tenderoni likes to do for you

Problem is 20 teams could offer him just as much and Memphis more. It's frustrating because maxxing Conley and Batum would make us legit next season plus we'd still have a max available in 2017.

The Sixers, sources said, came away impressed by the 20 pounds of muscle Simmons is said to have added to his physique since the end of the college season and viewed the meeting as the start of "building a relationship" with the player they are strongly expected to select ahead of Duke's Brandon Ingram with the first pick next week. Thursday's sitdown did not include any basketball work, but sources say that the Sixers are to date the only team that has been granted direct access to Simmons in the lead-up to the draft.

Brown was in Ford's Tier 3

Tier 3

Dragan Bender, PF, Croatia
Jaylen Brown, F, Cal
Marquese Chriss, PF, Washington
Kris Dunn, PG, Providence
Jamal Murray, G, Kentucky

This tier is typically reserved for players who are projected as NBA starters.

This year we have a strong Tier 3. Three of the players received Tier 2 votes.

All five of these players are locks to go in the top 10. Chriss, especially, has star potential as well.

Having just seven players in the first three tiers makes for a pretty average draft. In terms of the top three tiers, the 2016 draft is not quite as strong as 2014 (12) or 2015 (8), but it is not quite as weak as 2013, which had six players in the top three tiers but none in the top two.

Of this group, Bender and Brown were the only players to receive Tier 4 votes.

If you go by Ford's tiers, Embiid and Simmon Tier 1 with Okafor as Tier 2 is about as good as we could get. Noel was a Tier 3.

20 pounds of muscle in 3.5 months? Seems likely.

He was probably knee deep in pussy at LSU and that distracted him. He has probably been working out so much more than he ever has in his life.
