watched a replay 18 hours after the rest of you watched it live, at the annual superbowl pizza party hosted by a dutch fan of american football. we have to promise to avoid finding out the score beforehand... but i broke my promise cause i'm pretty sure i would have broken our host's furniture if i was dealing with REAL suspense. i ONLY checked the score... didn't know the rest of what was coming.

i still frightened and deafened the rest of the party.
foles reception ownership of brady was the most awesome thing i've seen since the first miracle of the meadowlands.
almost leaped through the screen and strangled collinsworth when he was blathering inanely about the ertz goal-line leap.
called the sack of brady without knowing about it beforehand (REALLY), and that was the one thing i most wanted to happen other than the win i knew was coming.
the back-up qb sbmvp holding his daughter is one of the most beautiful things i have ever seen or will ever see on a football field.

got home at 1130pm (biked though a winter night) and then read this thread for an hour before sleeping, and picked up where i left off during breakfast.
you folks are the best source of vicarious philly sports celebration that the world has to offer. thnx.

The ending of the game is a little weird because with 9 seconds remaining you really wouldn't be certain that it was the last play of the game. So you had the relief of seeing the ball hit the ground which then got multiplied when your eyes found the clock.

Chris Long calling out Collinsworth: http://thebiglead.com/2018/02/05/chris- ... -bowl-lii/

I like it. X-Bungle Collinsworth is a tool.

The Clement TD was more questionable than the Ertz TD. The "runner" thing was clear on Ertz. Not sure what decided the Clement TD review.

Yeah, and in those situations they routinely add 2 seconds onto the clock or whatever. Wasn't sure the game was over for a good 10 seconds after that.

That was the one play I couldn't really see well, and I almost had a heart attack when I saw the ball pop up. But right at the same moment one of the Eagles (McLeod?) started celebrating. Still didn't seem real even when the team rushed the field

It definitely took a moment to set in.

Like I knew it bounced. I saw it hit the ground and go into some Patriot's arms and knew it was dead and knew the clock read 0:00 and it still took like 2 more seconds to fully realize we were Super Bowl champions.

I was standing in my living room after that and after going nuts all game I just stood there for like 5 seconds. My wife said to me, "they just won the super bowl, what are you doing?!" I was just waiting for a flag or the officials to say they were adding a second to the clock or something like that. It just didn't seem real. Then I went nuts.

am I the only one that saw gronk push off near the end zone? it's silly some are trying to create a narrative that the Eagles did PI there

My wife started crying a little too early. She literally lost it when Barnett recovered the fumble. I went nuts as soon as I saw the zeros on the clock. I felt pretty good that there wasn't a Mr. McMahon level screwjob coming from the refs.

Does anyone think that the Eagles failing on their attempt to win their 6th Super Bowl title will be devastating? I mean its hard to relate. Before this one, I was really starting to worry that we were inching closer to the Vikings and Bills 4 loss territory.

Man, I can't believe we are Super Bowl Champions.

The Ertz call was confirmed after review. The Clement one just stood after review. I think the logic was that there wasn’t enough there for the refs to overturn it.

Torrey Smith immortalized on our SI cover how bout that
“I don’t coach losers, I only coach winners.” Mike Krzyzewski

Tom Brady bereft on the turf, it has literally been ripped from his grasp
