i've said this before --was in the car for some of the game and his voice is iconic and all but as a radio play-by-play guy you have no clue what's going on. 'short gain' on a run can be anywhere between 1 and 4 yards. 'caught for the first down' might be 1 yard past the sticks, or 10'. he can give the time of the game and what quarter and what the score is every 3 mins, but can't be bothered to say where the ball is on the field very often.

that went scramble and bomb for 58 yards. no clue how far he through it, what he did to get out of trouble or even that agholor broke a tackle.

that behind the back pass/fumble. no excitement or sadness. just that oculd be a fumble and then they went to commercial.

Nice to see Alshon & Smith drawing attention freeing up Agholor. It was also nice that Agholor caught a few.

The D dominated. The Skins QB is still a minivan driving Cousins, so take that FWIW.

It was a good win for week 1, now let them knock off the rest of that rust and click. When the team is full speed it should be fun.

100% this. i had to listen to the first 20 minutes of the game and was dying to see a replay of the agholor catch because i had no earthly idea how the play went down. i'm not looking for kevin harlan levels of description (who is over the top on the radio), but something...i couldn't even gather if it was a deep pass by wentz.

now perhaps in merrill's defense - i know this is well documented - but the subsequent sack/FF by cox must have only elapsed by 3 seconds and he had to mention the who the sack was sponsored by, who the forced fumble was sponsored by, AND WHO THE TURNOVER was sponsored by. any pbp guy would have trouble getting into a flow having to do all of those reads. it was like a parody of a game broadcast.

The fact that Nelson Agholor may be a legit weapon now is shocking... you might as well tell me that Marcus Smith will morph into Ray Lewis wherever he is

Wentz is pretty comfortable on the run. athletic dude that has great touch throwing into the garbage cans. it's like he overthinks throws when he's in the pocket

Yeah I haven't really listened to games on the radio in the last 20 years or so, and was surprised at how awful he was. The 'no excitement' thing especially -- I should be able to tell by the tone of your voice (if not your words) if something really good or bad is happening to the Eagles

Well, we have absolutely no reason to put any faith in Agholor based on past performance, and the preseason hype makes it harder to trust, but if he gets to play an easy game of catch because other teams are pasted to legitimate threats, I will take it.

More I see the video, the more I think that fumble might have been the correct call. It does look like the ball is coming out of Cousins hand even before Graham makes contact with him.

Yeah, there was one angle to me that made it look like this was clear-cut what happened, and then another angle where it wasn't so clear cut. It was almost optical illusionish.

Exactly the same here. The reason I think it was a pass was how the ball came forward so hard when BG was pushing his arm the other way, wouldn't make sense to be a fumble.

The closer I looked at it, doesn't it seem as though Graham's left hand hits Cousins' throwing motion at the moment of change from backward to forward and then his right hand blocks the fumble/pass?

that's what i thought happened originally, but it didn't look like his left hand ever got him from the back angle.

I want to find the other angle to post here because that is where I initially say Graham's left hand hitting Cousins' throwing motion.

The ball was clearly coming out before any forward motion.

Nellie may have some good games in the slot, thata to his speed, but the screen didn't work and he doesn't brealbtackles, so his upside is limited there. The occasional fly pattern with an LB on him prob makes it worth it.
