Friend of mine took her son yesterday and said it took almost 2 hours to find a parking spot. She said the Jurassic World exhibit is amazing though

Seems a bit of a tall tale or she is very bad at looking for parking

Remember most (all?) schools were off this week, so if a bunch of families were visiting the dinosaur thing this week, traffic would've been crazier than usual. Supposedly one of the museum employees said there were 7000 visitors yesterday

All I'm saying is I'm less than a ten minute walk from there and my street is nearly empty all day long.

I wouldn't do that in a NO-POOP-EDITION random thoughts thread.

At work we have to use the word "pop" a lot. I live in constant fear of messing it up.

A person driving in from the burbs with kids is not going to know that, or maybe even be willing to venture that far. I could always find parking in Fairmount when I lived there, now I almost end up paying.

That said, you have to be pretty cheap to give two hours to searching for parking before giving up and going to a garage. though the Franklin Institute one is tiny and the one on Cherry near the Academy I'm sure filled up very quickly as well.

Which makes him like most (not all) commenters in the thread (including me often.) That doesn't mean ad hominem attacks should be allowed just because people disagree. I don't agree with him on Israeli settlements, but it's certainly a contentious issue and having a voice in opposition to the general board consensus should be encouraged, even if all it does is spark discussion and allow people to spell out the case for an opposing viewpoint.

I shoulda put this in the unpopular opinions thread, I guess.

Again, the problem actually comes with how he discusses, not what he discusses

I kinda like playing long-term jokes/pranks on my wife. My latest is to slowly steal her socks. We don't do all the laundry on one day and so there is always a half dozen or so single socks. We place them to the side and their pares show up a week or so later when we do more laundry. Over the past month, I've taken one or two socks each week, leaving enough single socks that it's not suspicious, but taking enough that she has slowly lost about half her socks. She finally said something about it today.

Her: "I feel like I'm missing a lot of socks."

Me: "Are they in the single pile?"

Her: "No"

Me: "They're probably just on the bottom of one of the baskets. They'll turn up." (we have 3)

She accepted my explanation. Now I get to enjoy watching her slowly figure out they are missing. I can probably keep it going for another 2-3 weeks. I'm a terrible person.

There's no way it took two hours. I suspect it took thirty minutes, and even that is an incredibly long time. Defriend her.

TBF that whole area is fucked up with construction. Real easy to get turned around and lost. So while 2 hours is bullshit I can see it taking an hour if youre a cheap bastard
