best case scenario is he's such a disaster that we get a blue house in 2018 and literally nothing gets done for the final 2 years. As getting 25 or whatever number of GOP senators we're going to need then for an impeachment is going to be impossible.

Lockhead Martin must have done something to DT. He tweeted about them and then their stock took a measurable hit.

Fun stuff.

No problem:
China has flown a nuclear-capable bomber beyond its borders in what US officials say is a response to President-elect Donald Trump's phone call with Taiwan president Tsai Ing-wen.

The Xian H-6 bomber flew along the disputed 'nine-dash line' around the South China Sea on 8 December. This marks the second time Beijing has flown bombers in the disputed area since Trump was elected president, US officials told Fox News. The officials said it was intended to send a message to Trump.

According to Military Today, "The H-6K is designed for long-range attacks and stand-off attacks. It is considered as a strategic bomber. It is capable of attacking US carrier battle groups and priority targets in Asia. This aircraft has nuclear strike capability."

His family and friends must be short LMT. It has been over a month since the election and I am still in the first stage of grief.

disgraced former Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-Philly) got a 10 year sentence:

attah's criminal acts were part of a years-long scheme related to his unsuccessful bid to become mayor of Philadelphia. Fattah and several of his co-defendants, who include former campaign and congressional aides, obtained an illegal $1 million loan for him during the 2007 mayor’s race. Once he lost that race and faced a large debt, Fattah and his inner circle illegally used federal and charitable funds to help repay the loan. Fattah and the other co-conspirators submitted false billing statements to his mayoral campaign in order to keep the loan secret.

In addition, Fattah received bribes from Herbert Vederman, a former deputy mayor of Philadelphia who served as an aide to his mayoral campaign. Fattah used the money to pay personal expenses, including his taxes.

In return, Fattah reportedly pushed for an ambassadorial position for Vederman or for appointment to the U.S. Trade Commission, including hand-delivering a letter to President Barack Obama on the issue. Fattah also hired Vederman’s girlfriend in his Capitol Hill office.

The FBI spent years investigating Fattah, and it long looked as if he would escape federal indictment. But he was charged in 2015, and then convicted on all counts the following year.

Vederman didn't end up getting either position, fwiw.

Considering the reports that he was the most vocal critic of the intel in the classified briefings, he damn well better cover his ass.

Sanders has some special on MSNBC tonight with Chris Hayes. Seems like a town hall type thing in the non-liberal part of Wisconsin.

FBI with a barely weak rebuttal

The FBI, however — while agreeing that the hacking campaign originated in Russia — has been reluctant to align itself with the CIA and assign a motive to the cyberattacks. A senior FBI counterintelligence told the House Intelligence Committee last week that the bureau was still not sure whether Russia's "specific goal" was to get Trump elected.

"There's no question that [the Russians'] efforts went one way, but it's not clear that they have a specific goal or mix of related goals," a US official present at the hearing said.

The efforts only went one way, but hey it could be a coincidence right?

This whole business about Russia's goals and intentions is a distraction which puts the cart before the horse. The point is they did use cyberattacks to inject themselves into American political affairs. As a threat to our democracy the matter should be thoroughly investigated. There need be no preconceptions as to intent. The mere fact of the attacks themselves is cause enough.
