Sarandon consider Clinton just as evil; why would she do that?

I'd be impressed if anyone here could name three out of the four most recent ambassadors to the Un. It's going from one of the most recognizable governors to obscurity basically.

Susan Rice and Samantha Power, whom I really like, were the last two. Weren't Jeane Kirkpatrick and Madeline Albright in there somewhere. Plus the weirdo guy.

Not to get a whole tangent started but during my time on a BOE, I still have not heard a single, rational argument as to why the Common Core is a bad thing.

I don't know too much about education, but all I've ever heard from my teacher friends is that it takes away their ability to optimize class for their students, that the kids hate it and find it depressing and don't even learn anything from it, and that it's a big waste of everyone's time

what are the arguments for it other than 'accountability'?

Some schools were severely behind the times with their curriculum. It's just a set of goals and ideas about what children should know by what grade. The math can be 'funky' but there's no real evidence kids have learned less from it; they just learn differently and the way they learn early on lets them eventually understand higher maths easier.

Ben Carson, who as far as I can tell Trump seems to think should be HUD secretary because he's black, was rumored to have accepted, and is now saying through a spokesman that he's still thinking about it and will have an answer after Thanksgiving.

a big part of it is states' rights/local control. Not necessarily rational.

I'm OK with it considering how closely Trump's campaign worked with the Kremlin and the Kremlin's decades long history of interfering with foreign elections. Don't see much of a downside.
