Like its a game is so accurate. Yeah I'm going to vote, but it'll be for a dead gorilla lol

People are tired of working longer hours for lower wages, of seeing decent paying jobs go to China and other low-wage countries, of billionaires not paying any federal income taxes and of not being able to afford a college education for their kids - all while the very rich become much richer.

“To the degree that Mr. Trump is serious about pursuing policies that improve the lives of working families in this country, I and other progressives are prepared to work with him. To the degree that he pursues racist, sexist, xenophobic and anti-environment policies, we will vigorously oppose him.”

Pretty concise and accurate. If Hillary was up against an establishment Republican, she probably would've won. This became a populist election at least a year ago though and the Republican populist won his nomination.

I don't think there's anything to gain from Monday morning QBing this anymore though.

I'm not a big Bernie guy but this is spot on. I know the racial aspect of Trump's campaign gets a lot of coverage (and clicks) but the areas he crushed are ones that have been hit heaviest by a changing economic landscape.

Again, PA is a great example of it. NEPA, Lehigh Valley, and Erie aren't more racist or more whatever than anywhere else in PA, but they have been hit the hardest by jobs leaving.

This is the unfortunate truth. Trump won with less votes than Romney but Hillary got more than 6MM votes less than Obama. That's hard to get my brain around.

I firmly believed (and posted here) that few people were going to change their minds about these two candidates over the course of the campaign and that it was all going to come down to each candidate's ability to GOTV. I took comfort in that belief and believed that Hillary's virtual firewall was her campaign's ground game vs. the improvisation of Trump's.

Ultimately, though, all the technical prowess in the world could not overcome a deep-seated skepticism and lack of enthusiasm for Hillary, particularly among the young, erstwhile Bernie supporters. It's why I voted for Bernie in the primaries, believing he had the better shot at beating Trump. But, in all honesty, I never thought Trump would beat her.

Not sure what the endgame is here.

Too little, too late. More proof that too many people (especially those in urban areas) just assumed Trump becoming President could never happen.

You have to wonder how many of those people stayed home after seeing the polls for weeks predicting a big HRC win.

You'd think some intrepid reporter (I know, I know, that kind hasn't existed since Jimmy Olsen) would try to track down some didn't voters & find out what the fuck is wrong with them

If I hear another rightwinger declare solemnly that "7 in 10 Americans don't like the direction the country's going", as if they therefore OWNED all those potentially 210 million directions people would RATHER be going, I will be inspired to discover their addresses and go there to poop on their front steps

I'm thinking this and that HRC was a flawed candidate to begin with are the 2 real reasons why that clown won. I'm not buying into the "white trash" reasoning.

Trump did not win the poor or the working class if you actually look at numbers.

people that voted on the economy as their most important issue voted 52-42 for Clinton. People that voted foreign policy voted 60-34. People that voted immigration voted Trump 64-32 and people that voted terrorism voted 57-39 Trump.

This is not some working class uprising. It just isn't.

I posted this yesterday. Latinos are not one-issue voters.

She told me everyone in her church voted for Trump. Why?

. The Obama administration is "teaching gay and anal sex to Pre-K children." Her daughter is having a "problem with a lesbian" and she told her son "God made you a man. You were born a man, not gay."

. The economy is horrible. When she got here there was work for everyone. (She liked Bill Clinton, by the way)

. ISIS is already here and Trump will get rid of them. As a corollary, the 9/11 attackers entered through Mexico.

. She wants to show me "the film" showing Hillary aiding the terrorists.

My takeaway, anybody who thought Trump turned off all the non-Cuban Hispanics missed the bigger picture of them and their views.

Pacino, what did Mormons ever do to you? So uneducated, rich people did Hillary in. Oh, and, according to her, President Obama.

wait, President Obama? what do you mean? It's hard to get a 3rd term but he's one of the major reasons it was even close to happening.

Saw something this morning that an aide to Clinton was crying uncontrollably afterward and one of the people she blamed for the loss was Barry - apparently he did not do enough to stop Comey.
