It's weird because we're actually better off than he is currently, but it's amazing how quickly the validation of all of this negative hatred has washed over so many. They feel invincible in just saying whatever they want in the moment.

This almost goes without saying, but they won't learn that from this, though they should (i'm completely with Gimpy on this). Elected Democrats usually stay in line...and there's not much new blood at all. We're screwed. It's up to your party.

Occupy (and I have no doubt we will be seeing protests again at some point) needs to take a page from the Tea Party and build the grass roots electoral coalitions to start running young candidates for state legislatures and even the House of Reps. The DNC should start helping young enthusiastic candidates with seed money. There are victories to be won here. I think the Democratic leadership also needs to do a better job listening. Elites on both sides are missing something--none of use really understand why so many people want to blow stuff up.

The other reality--if Hillary really did run 5 million votes behind Obama, then there's a big chunk of the answer right there.

My entire family voted Clinton so ours will be a bitch fest probably. My dad will have some rants. We luckily don't go to my wife's family for holidays.
