Gore distances himself from Clinton pretty quickly. I don't remember Bill being out there to anything close to the effect of President Obama.

He headlined a night at convention, plus they deployed him later on on the campaign.

Seems like a weird point to contest, tbh. Maddow stated her terms, and those do not match what/how President Clinton was used in the Gore campaign. He did not make the emotional please about his legacy, he did not pour heart and sole into getting Gore elected. President Obama did that and more for Hillary. That's the point.

i dont agree with that much of this but he says it very well. i just don't think he comes from the perspective where politics affected him as much (thus why he didn't talk about it much).

but, it's the media environment and 24/7/365 nature of it all.

i guess the terms were "with all his heart"? kinda subjective for politics.

still think it's a weird point to make. she made it sound like never in american politics, i just went with the last time it happened. don't really care if i'm wrong, just seemed like a sweeping generalization.

The colbert show was really bizarre TV. He really wasn't ready for what happened and I was hoping he'd flip out more in the moment. He did a nice job free styling (id assume) the last bit though

there's people that i genuinely liked that i hope i never see again for the rest of my life.

I was legit thinking on my drive in I might get into a fist fight with a coworker.

if i quit bowling i can cut out a lot of those people, but there'll still be my wife's family. not many doing 'poorly' economically, fwiw. and yeah, there are people that are completely nice to me that apparently have VERY different views about some things. i always knew that but i didn't know the extremes of some.

it's crazy how divided our county is, much like our country; home to work the atmosphere is just WAAAAAY different.

So at least currently it looks like:

2016 Trump got about 1.5 Million FEWER votes than 2012 Romney
BUT
2016 Clinton got about 5.9 Million FEWER votes than 2012 Obama

Democrats felt uninspired by a complicated and uninspiring nominee trying to get a 3rd term while a segment of our population WAS inspired to vote for right-wing populism. If you told me the guy who started his campaign off with 'mexicans are rapists and criminals' would inspire a movement, I wouldn't have believed you. Now, after looking at world trends, it all makes sense.

Some can sit there and try to convince us that the world is not ending but for many Americans today, life will change for the worse. That's what we do know for sure.
