Yes, as was Trump.

Never underestimate the level of contortions that people can go through to justify their candidate's bad acts.

and to reiterate what I've been saying, this is where Trump's lack of ground game is going to be a big effect

1. The embargo was stupid.

2. Republicans have historically been for the embargo.

3. American companies still weren't allowed to skirt US law.

People need to not think so either/or; all can be true. This isn't some kid smoking pot in PA. This is a big deal.

Oh. My. God.

This aired on Univision and Telemundo during the debate Monday night.

Tecate was already my favorite (readily-available) Mexican beer, but this only solidifies it.

I see Hillary people walking downtown (Reading) with clipboards every single day talking to people. I don't think there is a Trump office here. The demographics of people who live in center city Reading aren't in his favor but there are a lot of workers that go home to their mcmansions every night.

what's your reading of the intellect on display on your timeline (what's a timeline btw)? No offense, but feels like it's .... limited

I'm with ya. Don't get this angle at all, especially from fellow liberals/lefties. Even if you think the embargo was dumb the point is that Trump broke the rules

Trump asks non-Christians to identify themselves at a rally

great post in the comments section

Are there any queers in the theater tonight?
Get them up against the wall!
There's one in the spotlight, he don't look right to me,
Get him up against the wall!
That one looks Jewish!
And that one's a coon!
Who let all of this riff-raff into the room?
There's one smoking a joint,
And another with spots!
If I had my way,
I'd have all of you shot!

people in this thread have yelled at me for saying the GOP base is basically Alex Jones fans, and Alex Jones represents the GOP.

I don't see you saying anything of the sort in this thread, and in the previous politics thread I do not see anyone disagreeing or discussing your assertion about the GOP base. I could have missed it though.

Well the real downside is other countries might start letting their citizens sue us in their own courts under their laws. We also have plenty of treaties that protect our citizens while they are abroad, which could also be impacted.

It basically just gets the ball rolling away from sovereign immunity. Given that America (both the country and its citizens) is more involved with other countries than any country on the planet, being the one to get that started seems pretty shortsighted.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

His statement was that the majority of Republicans are conspiracy theorists. I said that was too broad of a statement, but my FB/Twitter feeds are beginning to sway me otherwise, at least as it pertains to the Clintons.

One of my nutjob rightwing family members (someone who regularly posts sketchy articles about illegal immigrants killing us all) posted a video claiming that Hillary was signalling Lester Holt during the debate when she needed to be teed up for a zinger.

Their first example of this happening was that, on a question where Trump went first, Hillary scratched her nose, and 1:00 later Lester turned to her for a response.

I didn't know whether to be endlessly amused or horrified by the level of comprehension there.

Of course, the guy also posted an article claiming that the man who picked up Hillary's notepad from the podium after the debate was instead picking up a list of The Questions being asked during the debate. The evidence was that he didn't pick up anything from Trump's podium.
