That seems like significantly less than for past republicans?

pacino wrote:a poll of the military:
Conducted in September, it is the first scientific breakdown of voting preferences among service members, and includes more than 2,200 responses from active-duty troops. And it shows a very different race than the one playing out on the broader national stage.

Among the entire military force, Trump leads Johnson 37.6 percent to 36.5 percent, within the study’s 2 percent margin of error. Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton trails as a distant third-place choice, with only 16.3 percent of troops' support.

Green Party candidate Jill Stein received 1.2 percent support while other third-party and write-in options received 3.2 percent.

About 5 percent of respondents indicated they do not plan to vote given the likely choices on the ballot this year.

Perhaps most notably, there is a sharp split between enlisted personnel and the military's officer corps, which directs day-to-day operations and implements policy. Among the officers surveyed, Johnson is the clear choice, commanding support from 38.6 percent of respondents. Clinton actually outpaces Trump in that group, with nearly 28 percent support for the former secretary of State compared to the New York business mogul’s 26 percent.

more than 50% of the Marine Corps wants Trump to 10% being for Clinton.

Vote Trump if you want to support our troops.

Actually, I think the fact that the officers are tending libertarian is comforting. I wonder though if it's simply a rejection of Trump rather than a reflection of libertarianism within the military.

The ones that would've gone for the R are going for Aleppo Johnson instead

In Trump's pitch to black voters, he held a town hall with Sean Hannity and wants to implement nationwide stop-and-frisk. To help black people. Because in NYC it was 'so incredible, the way it worked':

Right, well, one of the things I’d do, Ricardo, is I would do stop and frisk. I think you have to. We did it in New York. It worked incredibly well and you have to be proactive and, you know, you really help people sort of change their mind automatically, you understand, you have to have, in my opinion. I see what’s going on here, I see what’s going on in Chicago, I think stop and frisk. In New York City, it was so incredible, the way it worked. Now, we have a very good mayor, but New York City was incredible, the way that worked, so I think that could be one step you could do.

i'll quote previous posts i made showing stats about how disproportionate it was in enforcement

Nationwide as in everywhere or nationwide as in black neighborhoods everywhere. Because I read it as the latter.

well, there's little difference if you take his example of NYC. It was 'implemented everywhere' but enforced mostly against blacks and latinos and in neighborhoods that were majority black and latino in population. i assume this would be similar.

so, something 'so incredible'.

yes, i believe we all had a back and forth about that one a few months back; i don't think there's strong evidence that broken windows actually had a huge effect and there are various studies that disagree with this widely-held belief. Crime rates were going down under Mayor Dinkins BEFORE any change in policing. i think it's foolhardy to assign real credit to the tactic.

i think stop-and-frisk is blatantly a failure based on any measure, including the pesky constitution. The mayor that implemented it is supporting Clinton, who does NOT support this by any means. Trump is just going George Wallace here.

"You know, the police are proactive and if they see a person possibly with a gun or they think may have a gun, they will see the person and they'll look and they'll take the gun away," Trump said.

Hillary wants to take our guns or....?

I think it is effective in certain high crime environments attacking smaller problems and ultimately preventing bigger ones. Most places, thankfully more than 2-3 decades ago, are not high crime environments.

It's also none of the federal government's fucking business.
