Why is the Russia ties not being worked hared to be exposed at this late date? From back in July there was this in the WaPo that seems to have rather flown under the radar:

Q: What about investments from Russia in Trump’s businesses?

A. There is strong evidence that Trump’s businesses have received significant funding from Russian investors. Most notably, Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. made that very claim at a real estate conference in New York in 2008, saying “Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets.” Donald Trump Jr. added, “we see a lot of money pouring in from Russia.”

Trump also made millions when he agreed to bring the Miss Universe pageant to Moscow in 2013, a deal financed in part by the development company of a Russian billionaire Aras Agalarov. Agalarov is a Putin ally who is sometimes called the “Trump of Russia” because of his tendency to put his own name on his buildings. At the time, Trump mingled with the Russian business elite at a swanky after-party. “Almost all of the oligarchs were in the room,” Trump bragged on returning home.

As a sign of the importance of Russian investors, partners of one of Trump’s projects then under construction in Panama visited Moscow to sell condos at the building in 2006.

If there is anything that should scare the actual "Regan Republicans" it is this connection.

Putin's an evil man. POTUS a good but incompetent man. Putin has served his country's national interest better.

Next up: The argument that the mafia's attorney is superior to the civil rights attorney because the mafia's attorney wins more often (by lying, cheating, bribing, and having witnesses killed off).

Sigh.

It's mind-blowing. Yet three times a week there's a "new" story rehashing old details about the HRC email fiasco.

Why is it that Democrats are so goddamn good at the data and organization of campaigns but so bad at redirecting the narrative?

The mid-morning insane statement from Trump has come out:

In a 15-minute effort to set the “terribly dishonest” media straight before a speech on school choice in Cleveland, Donald Trump claimed that with him at the helm, Osama bin Laden would've been captured even before the Sept, 11, 2001 terror attacks.

“I would’ve been tougher on terrorism. Bin Laden would’ve been caught a long time ago, before he was ultimately caught, prior to the downing of the World Trade Center,” Trump said during an aside about his record on Iraq.

The constant self-aggrandizement will never cease to amaze me. Everything is terrific, the best, or the biggest. There's nothing that he isn't the best at. Even Kanye West isn't this delusional.

I think that Hillary's opening debate statement should include tweets from media/political establishment about Trump (not twitter eggs). This will completely tilt him and prove that it only takes 160 characters to bait him.

Donald would have told the generals to find him. Wish Clinton or Bush thought of that!

Yeah, it's a mortal lock that they're developing talking points to provoke him into one or more unforced errors.

I'm also hoping that Lester Holt will be under a lot of pressure from NBC after Matt Lauer's Commander-in-Chief debacle to press Trump whenever he says an obvious lie (opposing Iraq war) or absurdity (admiring Putin or generals are rubble).

Probably 50% of Twitter users have never even heard of the show.

I explained the Flintstones to me 6 year old the other day. It made me realize not just how insane the premise was, but how dated the show would feel to my kids.

That was such a weird scene. Romney turning back towards Obama and giving him that confrontational look, followed by POTUS interjecting "get the transcript" or something. Everything was breaking down, and I still don't blame Crowley for trying to settle things by fact checking Romney, who was somewhat out of line in how he was behaving.

I'm sure I'd feel differently if I was a Republican, but Romney brought a lot of that on himself by talking to his opponent rather than the moderator or the audience. (Although part of my opinion there is due to my background as a litigation attorney--one of the cardinal rules of argument is that you address the court, not opposing counsel--some judges will damn near hold you in contempt for that.)

Half of those nuts will automatically want to attack him because he's a black man asking questions of their beloved Mr. Trump.

Hewitt's same argument could be made in favor of Hitler. Is there no point for conservatives like him where decency demands that being a horrible human being outweighs competence?

Just when I think that Trump can't be any more dangerous, here we go. He went on Russia's state-controlled network and blamed Democrats for pointing the finger at Russia for the DNC hacks.

Donald Trump’s campaign manager Friday defended the GOP presidential nominee’s interview on the Russian TV network RT, saying he did it as a favor to host Larry King.

During the interview on the state-funded Russian station, Trump suggested that accusations of Russian influence in the 2016 presidential election are coming from Democrats.
