i missed this from two weeks back:
wtf is Wikileaks' twitter thinking?

That article is dated Tuesday.

This is why I don't understand how Assange gets such admiration from the left. Sure, he exposes some bad people (sometimes), but most of the time he is out-Drudging Drudge with conspiracy theories and rumormongering. He threatens groups/companies with leaks or potential leaks of illegally-obtained information--if you dropped the internet hacking hipster aspect, not a single person would admire him.

whoops, I meant this one: http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/ ... tweet.html

I dont know how they got switched out

a lot of the "weird twitter" guys, who are all self declared leftists, are like this. like one of the things they love to do is shit on "liberals" for having even slightly centrist or what they consider "neo liberal" view points. @swarthyvillain (goes by @byyourlogic now i think) used to be cool but seems like him and the dudes that do the CHAPOTRAPHOUSE podcast are so far up their own asses they can't see the forest for the trees. they seem to spend more time making fun of liberals who are appalled at Donald Trump (because they think everyone should be just as appalled at Hillary's political history).

note-- i think only youseff will understand any of this post. i barely understand any of it myself

Except for the internet parts, I think I understand.

Pretty much the same as the 'Bernie of Bust' crowd. They are STILL making anti-Hillary posts instead of taking down Trump. I don't get it.

It probably won't be for Christie, either.

well, we're also not short of Democrats deriding Bernie and Stein supporters rather than going after Trump, much less making positive arguments for Hillary

i think i'm known as the 'Hillary guy' here (I don't think that's the case, but it is what it is) and I've really only derided the busters at this point, and I don't really think about them too much anymore. I also thikn I've given some good positive reasons to vote for HRC instead of Stein or Johnson (the latter makes no sense to me if you are a liberal). most Democrats I speak to person to person have moved on from the primary. It's very few that are still in it.

now, if we are talking about the internet and twitter, you will find alt-right and bernie or busters and blind HIllary supporters and Trumpkins and all sorts of whackjobs.

they're like Bernie or Bust guys but pretty well read and fairly smart. funny but ultimately they seem like awful folks. they hate Hillary way more than they hate Trump for reasons they never really articulate. and they and their gang of voracious followers will harass reporters and twitter folks for weeks for the slightest disagreements. call me crazy but I dont think it's impossible they're psyops.

The chances that either ever see the inside of a prison cell are approximately the same as Donald Trump realizing no one is buying the combover.

Also, don't blame me: I voted for former 8th congressional district rep Patrick Murphy in the primary.

Haven't started this because it's yuuuuuuuuge but something I hope to get to in the next few days.

"This is a story unlike any we have previously published. It is much longer than the typical New York Times Magazine feature story; in print, it occupies an entire issue. The product of some 18 months of reporting, it tells the story of the catastrophe that has fractured the Arab world since the invasion of Iraq 13 years ago, leading to the rise of ISIS and the global refugee crisis.
