Would like to see a poll out of Texas. Unless Trump turns it around, I'd spend a not insignificant amount of time there if I were the Clinton campaign, with surrogates and with the candidate. It's a long shot but its demos are trending the right way; if Trump is disastrous until the end, you could really upend the political universe, change the ballgame for future elections. If Dems think they can win there and Rs think the can lose...

a 'normal' democrat would probably also have high negative numbers in the atmosphere right now because they'd have an entire machine and media on them 24/7. it's not actually probably that Democrats win after two terms in office. we are also highly polarized and voters are very unlikely to cross party lines. i think this is why jh is so apoplectic they chose The Donald. he's made it all possible.

i think you are highly overstating how 'easy' things would be with someone else at the top of the ticket.
