If we are in a simulation will we ever reach a level of singularity?

So, as I understand it, the evidence for the simulation idea is that we don't have evidence to disprove it and that it given that
1) It's unlikely we would be the only sentient life form in the universe (number of stars, stars with planets, probability of life existing, probability of sentience developping)
2) We can't find evidence of other sentient life forms
we can infer that this simulation was conceived in such a way as to only allow for one planet with intelligent life.

You can't prove it didn't happen is the (fallacious) argument religious folks make to scientists all the time.

http://www.simulation-argument.com/simulation.html

The way I look at it is in the conclusion.

VII. CONCLUSION

A technologically mature “posthuman” civilization would have enormous computing power. Based on this empirical fact, the simulation argument shows that at least one of the following propositions is true: (1) The fraction of human-level civilizations that reach a posthuman stage is very close to zero; (2) The fraction of posthuman civilizations that are interested in running ancestor-simulations is very close to zero; (3) The fraction of all people with our kind of experiences that are living in a simulation is very close to one.
If (1) is true, then we will almost certainly go extinct before reaching posthumanity. If (2) is true, then there must be a strong convergence among the courses of advanced civilizations so that virtually none contains any relatively wealthy individuals who desire to run ancestor-simulations and are free to do so. If (3) is true, then we almost certainly live in a simulation. In the dark forest of our current ignorance, it seems sensible to apportion one’s credence roughly evenly between (1), (2), and (3).

Unless we are now living in a simulation, our descendants will almost certainly never run an ancestor-simulation.

I think its a little different than the standard if you can't prove it, it didn't happen theory.

Its more like shrodingers cat in that regard I guess. We are both in a simulation and not in a simulation until the box gets opened. Orrrrr we become singular. I'm not banking on our overlords being that cool or whatever. So I'm striving for the singularity card. Then I'm gonna run super simulations where the coolest shit ever happens to me.

so, I totally get shitting on adults for being so hyped about Pokemon Go...but I'm seeing groups of people out exercising probably for the first time in years and otherwise antisocial people getting together and congregating around pokestops. It's the best exercise app maybe ever.

Werthless or whomever, does prednisone make you feel like shit?

Cause after my zpack and 2 days of prednisone I feel like a bloated dishrag. I had to call it a day early today and am now Just vegging out. I don't remember feeling this much like hole from steroids before.

In good news Day 9 of poison looks like the turning point. No new bumps and it is certainly drying out. Less itchy too. No amputation needed. Mutilation minimal.

When I was a kid I got real bad poison ivy and had to go on prednisone. It did indeed make me feel like shit. It was like 25 years ago and I still remember how shitty it made me feel.
