The pound is utterly collapsing. Time to plan a trip to England.

I go in 3 weeks

My son plans on doing his internship over there sometime in the next 4 years(he starts college this fall). Should be ....interesting.

Good for Britain, this is what happens when you force people into unions with no real democratic representation.

I will say this, the thought of the Germans and French desperately trying to make up the money we were providing the EU is hilarious. Think the consequences of it all will be far more than whatever happens to the UK, can see the EU suffering hugely now the other countries have to cover our tab.

Britain was fine before getting into the EU. France, Germany and GB were funding the whole damn thing. People don't like that. The same conversation is happening here when it comes to NATO, UN etc.

We are not leaving the UN or NATO. That's stupid.

I know we are not but there are people in the country who think one nation in a 28 nation alliance funding 70% is also stupid.

EU membership isn't analogous to NATO or UN membership because of the level of control EU exerted over day to day political issues in the country.

This is fair but I just was referring to the funding aspect. France Germany and the UK were subsidizing the EU.

my take pretty closely follows oliver's... fucking stupid in the long run to satisfy fears over immigration/racism. I hope the pound falls off a cliff and stays down. Maybe I'll buy some land in Whales, of course then I'd be a scary immigrant.

post brexit deals will probably go something like this.

uk: Finally, we don't have to follow all these onerous regulations when dealing with the EU
EU: Yes you will.
uk: Oh
