I think I broke my thumb, I fell and tried to brace myself with my right hand and landed funny on it last week. I landed on my pointer and middle finger as well as my thumb and my 2 fingers are getting a lot better but my thumb still hurts a lot and I can't move it certain ways without a lot of pain. It's not very swollen or bruised though. Anyway, what kind of doctor should I go to? Gp or orthopedic?

GP since it will cost less and they'll both likely just send you for an x-ray.

urgent care and you can get the xray right there

broke my thumb tackling my dog a few moons ago. the physical therapy ended with a 15 minute massage. this broad could work a hand like you wouldn't believe.

Got a tuning fork? Hold it against the bones at the base of your thumb (while vibrating) and if it lights up your pain - you probably have a fracture.

Scaphoid bone has a narrow "neck" that breaks pretty easily, especially when falling onto an outstretched hand.
