I danced and was a "captain" on the Family Relationship committee, so I am slightly attached. I can understand how annoyed people are with the over saturation, but it still pisses me off to here people talk down on it.

I hate Thon weekend. I always give a 5 or 10 to the first group I see, but then I feel guilty about the next 4,935 I turn down

But to say 'I hate fucking THON' is asinine. It is nowhere near a perfect charity or organization. It has a ton of self righteous greek life students who would have no interest in charity if it werent forced upon them. The cultishness can get annoying and weird and as someone who was a part of that, I fully admit it. But to say you 'fucking hate' something that has donated millions of dollars to easing the burden on families and creating a new building at Hershey it just so fucking stupid. To put the cultishness and annoyance on balance against that and to weigh in favor of 'yeah, fuck that charity' is nearly unfathomable. I have no issue at all with misgivings about thon, but to see it as a net negative is so stupid.
