Cruz's NYE message was similar. It's like we are living in a different country. I look around and am not stepping over the bodies or having to barter for food. Some people are living rough lives, but any look at any statistic shows we are doing fine in the aggregate, especially in comparison to late 2008/early 2009. There's lots to work on (and I've seen decline in worker rights, for example), but we are not a third world country here, folks.
Exactly. Words have meaning. Seven years of overall moderate economic growth and domestic peace =/= disastrous.
