We'll spend T-Day morning helping with a 5k race intended to raise money for some local food banks. Then, I think it will be just the three of us for turkey and stuff. Friday, we're having our 2nd annual post-thanksgiving pot luck croquet party.

I'm really looking forward to it.

Up to one in a row

Germany's friendly with the Netherlands on Tuesday has been called off because of a "concrete security threat" against the city of Hannover. Evacuation of the Hannover Stadium, which was hosting the match, began less than two hours before kick-off. The city's president of police Volker Kluwe told the BBC "there were plans for some kind of explosion". German Chancellor Angela Merkel was set to attend the match at the 49,000-capacity HDI Arena.

And the train station near the soccer stadium is closed too. All in Hannover.

The ambulance bomb stuff is being reported, but isn't confirmed. Other places are saying a suitcase or a device. German officials aren't saying what the supposed threat was.

Yes. And yes.

I may have however been joking in one of those instances.

christie:
"I do not trust this administration to effectively vet the people who are proposed to be coming in," the New Jersey governor and presidential hopeful said in an interview Monday with radio host Hugh Hewitt.

When asked if he would make an exception for "orphans under the age of five," Christie said no.

"The fact is that we need appropriate vetting," he continued, "and I don't think orphans under five are being, you know, should be admitted into the United States at this point. But you know, they have no family here. How are we going to care for these folks?"

current vetting has taken as long as two years and it is difficult for people to prove a negative

Meanwhile, Christie struck a different tone on refugees in September as the world reacted to images of a drowned 3-year-old.

"I'd sit down with our allies and figure out how we can help, because America is a compassionate country," Christie said after the death of Aylan Kurdi, 3, who drowned off the Greek coast with his brother and mother as the family tried to reach relatives in Canada.

"We saw the image of that 4-year-old little boy drowned in Syria, and we can't have those kinds of things. I can't come up with an exact number. You'd have to sit with our allies and work together."

Apparently there was not an ambulance full of bombs or any bombs for that matter.
