I find it remarkable that no one found it necessary to say, "Wake up! It's time to go to sleep!"

Truth. Lots of under-informed folks posting crap they either make up or read on some whacko website. I like to find the real deal and post or with a short comment. I don't get mad because I don't take bozos seriously. It's fun to post facts though. I guess I'm a renegade.

Fun fact: cooper sharp cheese is only an east coast thing and it's incredibly sad for me, personally.

tillamook makes fantastic cheddar cheeses, their extra sharp white is as legit as anything you'll find in a fancy cheese case. it's one of my favorite cheeses. it is not cooper sharp, tho.

I went to their factory when I was in Portland back in May. I kept going in circles through the sample line. Their ice cream is great too.

My recollection of Tillamook cheeses from when I was growing up was that it was just cheese. Wonder if they've expanded their offerings since then to more artisanal style did.

That awkward moment when you're doing ancestry research and read this about your great great great great great great grandfather (born 1699, died 1754):

"Among the property named in his will is one negro man, about 70 or 80 years old, one negro woman, about 40 years old, appraised at 13 pounds 6 shillings and 8 pence. One negro girl, about 8 years old, appraised at 20 pounds. One mulatto boy, about 13 years old, bound as an apprentice until 21 years of age."

And that was just the "inventory" this dude left to the son that got his homestead. He also left a "negro slave named Rose" to his wife along with a bunch of livestock. By the way this was in Rhode Island & Massachusetts, not like Mississippi.
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

Not really. They just make good quality standard cheeses. I usually have a block of their cheddar in the fridge at all times as my go to. That sharp white cheddar is the exception, the rest is just "good"

Cheese is my favorite thing, I think...
