It was pretty weird that Boykin made the statement he did. In the end Chip/Davis clearly didn't think he could start/play outside and traded him to a team that is going to give him a shot. Why take a parting shot at your coach in that situation. Obviously I have no idea if chip is rasict or awkward around young black guys, but it doesn't really add up in what you know about the guy. As a college coach he had to go visit tons of young black dudes and their families and convince them to go to fucking Oregon and play football then keep them happy/comfortable enough to stay there for 4 years.

someone recruiting black kids has little to do with someone not being racist.

i'm not accusing Chip but let's be real here. Plenty of people in charge of businesses and employing people are and have been racist and they even employed people of races they didnt like or had odd thoughts about.


i have no doubt college coaches formerly and currently employed are racists.

i dont think there's any area of our society where there aren't some racists in there. they may not be hulk hogan throwing bombs but they're there.

telling someone they have no clue what they're talking about is an odd way of asking someone to clarify their point, but okay?

my point is that you're assuming what the players say is not true because they've been scorned(there's no proof of this, this is all your speculation) when none of us know how chip acts around these players or how everything went down. there's been 3 players now who have had gripes about him that may or may not be racially motivated and i'm saying you can't ignore that based on zero evidence to the contrary.

i know a lot of people out here who went to UO and they've all said Chip was always known as kind of a dick and that the players generally didn't like him much, but they liked winning and being on a team that puts a lot of guys in the NFL so they put up with it. my friends who live in Eugene said they've heard the same thing. this is all bullshit speculation, but i'm not going to dismiss it because there's absolutely no evidence to the contrary.
